Recovering a Lampshade Tutorial

Before: Plain, boring, tan lampshade
After: an interesting, intentional, and cheap addition to the room

Ingredients:
Lampshade
Butcher paper or paper to cut your pattern onto
Fabric
Spray adhesive
Hot glue gun
Ribbon adornment

Trace a pattern of your lampshade onto your paper by laying the shade down and turning it, tracing the top edge and bottom edge as you go. Add 1/4" to your pattern for folding over the top and bottom of the shade. Cut out and make sure the pattern works by wrapping it around your shade. Cut out your fabric of choice using your pattern. Spray the wrong side of the fabric with spray adhesive. Gently apply the sticky fabric to the lampshade, smoothing any wrinkles. Fold over the 1/4" extra around the top and bottom edge and keep in place using a hot glue gun. Cut some ribbon to size and use hot glue to adhere to the shade.
So much better!
