Wedding Day Shadow Box
A constant reminder of the most perfect day of my life. I love the tangible-ness (is that a word?) of it all. Included is a program, an invitation, my groom's boutonniere, a handkerchief hand-tatted by a friend, a handmade origami wedding favor box (we made about 300 of these puppies) and a love letter. A few hours before we became husband and wife, my favorite fella sent me this love letter confirming the depth of what was about to take place. This memory shadow box hangs in our hallway for all to see. These things are to be treasured always...like our marriage.
I recently ordered a small (8x8) shadow box and am waiting for it to appear in my mailbox. My plan is to use it to display a couple pairs of my grandmother's earrings along with a picture of her. Can you give any suggestions of anything else I might be able to include to give it a bit more depth?
ReplyDeleteI would see if you can get some more little things that were hers, at least a collection of some photos that you can layer. What about her passport, a letter that she'd written, a recipe card in her handwriting, a handkerchief, a brooch--just some tangible little things to fill it out? Send me a picture when you finish it!
